“We offer these points today, Red Wednesday, a day in which the Church prays for persecuted Christians throughout the world.  We are invited during this commemoration to be in solidarity with those who are oppressed because of their faith in Christ.  As we reflect on these talking points, we pray too for our country–especially the poorest and most vulnerable among its citizens–as it endures the daily persecution of corruption.  May all Filipinos of good will be “salt” that brings healing and “light” that overcomes darkness, guiding others to what is true and just, so that God’s Kingdom of justice, love, and peace may truly reign in our beloved country.”
